Introduction

Runch ("we", "us") runs an app for verified professionals to meet for a run, lunch or coffee across Australia. This policy explains what information we collect through the app, how we use it, and the choices you have. By creating an account you agree to this policy.

Information we collect

Account & profile: full name, email address or the identifier your sign-in provider (Apple, LinkedIn) gives us, profile photos, bio, company, job title, department, gender (self-reported, never shown to other members), running club, answers to profile prompts, a link to your LinkedIn profile, and an optional link to your Strava profile. Activity: runs, lunch and coffee meet-ups you post or join; likes you send or receive (the item liked, a copy of it at the time, and any comment); who you've matched with; your daily picks; and messages you send to other members. Location: the start-line or meeting-spot pin you drop when posting — a single point you choose. If you trigger an SOS during a run, your location at that moment is included in the alert. We do not track your location in the background. Safety reports: blocks and reports you submit against other members, and details of any SOS alert you trigger (your location at the time, if available). A report may include the specific prompt answer, photo, comment or message it is about. Device: a push notification token, used only to deliver notifications to your device.

How we use your information

To operate the core features of the app: showing your profile to other verified members, letting you post and join runs, lunches and coffees, delivering messages, and sending push notifications you have not turned off. To suggest people worth meeting: choosing a small daily set of members for you from your pace, availability, state, stated intent, meet-up history, your verification status, run style, whether you have prompts or an upcoming meet-up, and how recently you used the app — never gender. To keep the community safe: enforcing blocks, reviewing reports, and gating features like women-only runs based on the gender you provide. We do not sell your information, and we do not use it for advertising.

SOS safety feature

Runch does not track your location in the background or continuously during a run. If you trigger the SOS feature during a run, your last known location (if available) is sent to the other members of that run so they can help. It is a convenience feature for a run meetup, not a substitute for emergency services — always call 000 in a genuine emergency.

Who can see your information

Other signed-in members can see your profile, your prompt answers, and the runs, lunches and coffees you post or join. A like and its comment are visible only to you and the person you liked. A match is visible only to the two of you. Direct messages are only visible to the sender and recipient. If you block another member, we hide each of you from the other across posts, participant lists, and messaging; blocking also ends likes and matches between you, and blocked members never appear in your picks. You only appear in daily picks if you turn it on.

Third-party services we use

Supabase (database, authentication, file storage), Apple and LinkedIn (sign-in), Resend (delivering account emails), and Expo (delivering push notifications, and map display via Google Maps). These providers process data only as needed to provide their service to us.

Data retention and deletion

We keep your information for as long as your account is active. You can permanently delete your account at any time from Profile → Delete account. This immediately and permanently removes your profile, photos, prompt answers, posts, participation history, likes, matches, messages, blocks, reports, and location data. This cannot be undone. Your choices

You can edit most of your profile at any time, edit or remove your prompts, turn daily picks off in Settings, unmatch, turn off individual push notification types including like and match notifications (except safety alerts, which are always on), block or report another member, and delete your account.

Children

Runch is intended for working professionals aged 18 and over. We do not knowingly collect information from anyone under 18.

Security

We use industry-standard measures (encrypted connections, database access controls) to protect your information, but no system is perfectly secure. Please contact us if you believe your account has been compromised.

Changes to this policy

If we make material changes to this policy, we will notify members in the app before the changes take effect.
