Runch

Privacy Policy

Last updated 27 July 2026

Introduction

Runch ("we", "us") runs a running-meetup network for verified professionals across Australia. This policy explains what information we collect through the app, how we use it, and the choices you have. By creating an account you agree to this policy.

Information we collect

Account & profile: full name, email address or the identifier your sign-in provider (Apple, LinkedIn) gives us, profile photos, bio, company, job title, department, gender (optional, self-reported), and optional links to your LinkedIn and Strava profiles. Run activity: runs you post or join, your race history and upcoming races, and messages you send to other members. Location: the start-line pin you drop when posting a run — a single point you choose. If you trigger an SOS during a run, your location at that moment is included in the alert. We do not track your location in the background. Safety reports: blocks and reports you submit against other members, and details of any SOS alert you trigger (your location at the time, if available). Device: a push notification token, used only to deliver notifications to your device.

How we use your information

To operate the core features of the app: showing your profile to other verified members, letting you post and join runs, delivering messages, and sending push notifications you have not turned off. To keep the community safe: enforcing blocks, reviewing reports, and gating features like women-only runs based on the gender you provide. We do not sell your information, and we do not use it for advertising.

SOS safety feature

Runch does not track your location in the background or continuously during a run. If you trigger the SOS feature during a run, your last known location (if available) is sent to the other members of that run so they can help. It is a convenience feature for a run meetup, not a substitute for emergency services — always call 000 in a genuine emergency.

Who can see your information

Other verified members can see your profile and the runs you post or join. Direct messages are only visible to the sender and recipient. If you block another member, we hide each of you from the other across posts, participant lists, and messaging.

Third-party services we use

Supabase (database, authentication, file storage), Apple and LinkedIn (sign-in), Resend (delivering account emails), and Expo (delivering push notifications, and map display via Google Maps). These providers process data only as needed to provide their service to us.

Data retention and deletion

We keep your information for as long as your account is active. You can permanently delete your account at any time from Profile → Delete account. This immediately and permanently removes your profile, photos, run posts, participation history, messages, blocks, reports, and location data. This cannot be undone. See how to delete your account for full details, including how to request deletion if you can't access the app.

Your choices

You can edit most of your profile at any time, turn off individual push notification types (except safety alerts, which are always on), block or report another member, and delete your account.

Children

Runch is intended for working professionals aged 18 and over. We do not knowingly collect information from anyone under 18.

Security

We use industry-standard measures (encrypted connections, database access controls) to protect your information, but no system is perfectly secure. Please contact us if you believe your account has been compromised.

Changes to this policy

If we make material changes to this policy, we will notify members in the app before the changes take effect.
